What is this application?
Stamp 1G (Family Member) allows eligible family members of Employment Permit holders to live and work in Ireland without needing their own work visa, according to the sponsor's permit category.
Criteria and eligibility
- Proven family relationship (spouse, partner or dependent children)
- Sponsor holding a valid Employment Permit, including:
- Critical Skills Employment Permit (immediate right to family reunification)
- General Employment Permit (family reunification subject to additional criteria)
- Legal residence in Ireland
- Valid passport and IRP
Important note
- For Critical Skills, family reunification is allowed from the start of the permission
- For the General Employment Permit, family reunification depends on:
- the sponsor's minimum residence period
- income and stability criteria
- discretionary assessment by the Department of Justice
